In 2023, Exterior Worlds had the privilege of designing and building a spectacular landscape for a private estate that perfectly blends form, function, and serenity. Nestled in the rolling countryside, this comprehensive outdoor living environment features a luxury swimming pool, an expansive putting green, and thoughtfully curated garden elements that reflect timeless design and expert craftsmanship.
At the heart of the project is the resort-style swimming pool, which serves as both a recreational centerpiece and an architectural anchor for the surrounding landscape. Crafted with clean lines and precision-cut stone decking, the pool is flanked by elegant lounge areas shaded by vibrant blue umbrellas. The tanning shelf and integrated spa offer a relaxing retreat, while evening lighting creates an ambient glow that transforms the pool into a captivating nighttime focal point. Adjacent to the pool, a custom pavilion with exposed wood trusses and a stone fireplace provides a shaded escape perfect for entertaining or relaxing year-round.
This landscape project also includes a multi-tiered limestone stairway, framed by hand-laid stone retaining walls, that connects the main home to the elevated lawn and putting green. The wide, symmetrical stairs act as both a practical transition and a dramatic design statement, leading visitors from the structured courtyard to the expansive, manicured play spaces beyond.
A large-scale putting green sits at the front of the property, seamlessly integrated into the natural contours of the land. It offers not only recreational enjoyment for golfers of all ages but also enhances the property’s expansive views and park-like ambiance. Carefully selected turf ensures year-round performance and minimal maintenance.
An often-overlooked gem of this project is the steel water feature nestled into a corner courtyard of the home. With its modern, rusted finish and gentle waterfall, it creates a tranquil, sensory-rich moment that contrasts beautifully with the crisp whitewashed brick and structured plantings surrounding it. The careful layering of textures—from gravel and ornamental grasses to climbing vines and structured agaves—adds depth and softness to the overall design.
