Memorial Stone Pool House
In 2024, Exterior Worlds collaborated with Cupic Custom Homes to design and construct this luxurious outdoor living space in the prestigious Memorial neighborhood of Houston. This project exemplifies the perfect blend of rustic elegance and modern functionality, offering an inviting and serene environment for entertaining and relaxation. Every detail of the space was meticulously planned and executed to complement the surrounding natural beauty while meeting the lifestyle needs of the homeowners.
The central feature of this outdoor retreat is a stunning pavilion, crafted with a vaulted cedar beam ceiling and accented by a custom stone fireplace. The fireplace serves as a focal point, anchoring the space with warmth and character. Above, an impressive chandelier with a circular design adds sophistication and a cozy ambiance. This open-air structure is not only visually captivating but also designed for year-round enjoyment, providing shade and protection from the elements.
Flanking the fireplace are custom-built cabinetry and a discreetly integrated outdoor kitchen. These features combine convenience with style, allowing the homeowners to entertain effortlessly. The cabinetry, finished in a soft gray tone, contrasts beautifully with the natural stone, while the countertops provide ample space for food preparation and serving. Together, these elements enhance the pavilion’s functionality without compromising its aesthetic appeal.
The seating area within the pavilion is furnished with plush, weather-resistant wicker sofas and chairs, arranged around a unique coffee table featuring a natural wood base topped with glass. This arrangement fosters a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, perfect for socializing or enjoying a quiet evening by the fire.
The pavilion opens to a picturesque view of a sparkling pool, designed with clean lines and integrated water features. Cascading waterfalls add movement and sound, creating a soothing backdrop that enhances the sense of tranquility. The pool is framed by elegant travertine pavers, which provide a seamless transition between the pavilion and the outdoor environment.
Surrounding the space, lush landscaping further elevates the design. A mix of native plants, mature trees, and carefully curated flower beds softens the hardscaping and enhances privacy. The natural stone walls enclosing the area tie the landscape to the architectural elements, creating a cohesive and harmonious design.
Strategic lighting plays a key role in transforming this outdoor retreat into a magical evening escape. The chandelier, combined with uplighting on the trees and accent lighting on the stone walls, creates a warm and inviting ambiance after sunset.
